Gray is a graduate from the California State University, Long Beach Master’s in Psychological Research Program with an emphasis in stress and coping research within vulnerable communities. Gray’s research has examined the effects of trauma, stress, and strengths and resilience based coping in underserved and diverse populations locally and internationally. Gray's research primarily focuses on implementation efforts to increase the access to and scalability of evidence-based interventions (EBIs) that (a) are culturally and contextually responsive to structural, systemic, and chronic stressors affecting efficacy of and engagement with care, and (b) amplify individual- and community-level strengths to mitigate adverse mental health outcomes. Their research goals include taking an intersectional interdisciplinary approach to understanding how identity, discrimination, and traumatic stress relate to mental illness development, evidence-based treatment implementation, and ultimately systems-change. Through their research, Gray hopes to contribute to a better understanding of the impacts of structural stress on well-being to improve access to, and implementation of individualized care in resource constrained settings.
